Trainings and Coaching
Sovulla offers training and coaching on topics related to conflict management and communication, such as mediation, addressing difficult issues, facilitative leadership, and building a constructive organizational culture. All trainings and coaching programs are tailored to the needs of the participants and the target group. They are suitable for workplace mediators, team leaders, work supervisors, teams, and entire work communities.
Trainings
Sovustamo® Workplace Mediator Training – 20 ECTS
This 20-credit training process is designed for professionals in supervision and guidance work. During the course, participants deepen their understanding of the restorative approach, acquire practical mediation skills, and develop a new mediation service within their own organization or business.
Target Group
The training is primarily aimed at supervisors and other professionals engaged in guidance work. In addition to experience in guidance, participants are expected to have an understanding of encountering people in various interaction situations.

Learning Outcomes
After completing the training, participants will:
- Understand the philosophy and principles of the restorative approach
- Recognize the dynamics of interactional conflicts
- Be familiar with different forms and styles of mediation, as well as its application in various societal contexts
- Understand the stages of the mediation process and the mediator’s role in each stage
- Be able to facilitate a restorative workplace mediation process
- Identify mediation needs within work communities and make them visible to clients
- Be prepared to operate as a workplace mediation entrepreneur
- Becomes part of the Sovustamo® alumni community
Training Components
- Pre- and interim assignments
- Six in-person training days
- Webinars covering the legal aspects of workplace mediation and marketing and selling mediation services
- Group supervision for mediation work
- A Q&A session
- Online platform activities (assignments and discussions)
- Small group meetings
- Reading and literature assignments
- Practical workplace mediation experience: participants will act as a workplace mediator in a real case during the training. Participants are responsible for finding their own mediation client.
- Supervision of the workplace mediation process
- Development task: participants build their own workplace mediation expertise and work on marketing and branding the service for their organization or business
The scope of the training is 20 ECTS credits.

Facilitative and Dialogical Leader
Description
This training is designed for team leaders and supervisors within work communities. Participants explore dialogical and restorative leadership approaches, acquire practical mediation skills, and develop their own leadership competencies.
Target Group
The training is primarily aimed at team leaders, supervisors, and those in personnel management roles.
Learning Outcomes
After completing the training, participants will:
- Understand the principles of dialogical and restorative leadership
- Recognize the dynamics of interactional conflicts
- Identify tension and mediation needs within their own work community
- Understand the principles of the mediation process
- Apply facilitative mediation approaches as a team leader in conflict situations
- Recognize when an external mediator is needed
- Lead change within their work community toward constructive interaction and improved workplace climate
- Gain practical tools for leadership and handling various interactional situations
- Understand the stages of mediation and their role as a leader in each stage
- Be familiar with labor legislation as it supports psychosocial wellbeing, leadership, and the responsibilities of team members

- Practice of communication and mediation skills: participants apply their learning in their own work community between training days
The training promotes the integration of conflict management into everyday leadership through assignments between training days and reflective discussions during coaching sessions, encouraging participants to share their expertise and best practices.
