Defusing and debriefing supervision
Challenging and stressful situations affect the entire work community. Sovulla offers professional defusing and debriefing supervision to help process events, support recovery, and strengthen workplace wellbeing.
Defusing - Immediate Debriefing Conversation
A short, quickly arranged debriefing conversation following a stressful situation. It helps participants make sense of the event, process reactions, and restore workplace calm.
Purpose:
- To make sense of what happened
- To provide a safe space for expressing feelings and reactions
- To prevent stress accumulation
- To support the restoration of workplace calm
Defusing is usually conducted during the same work shift or, at the latest, within the following 24 hours.
Debriefing – Structured Post-Incident Discussion
A longer, professionally guided discussion held within a few days after an event. It deepens understanding, normalizes reactions, and supports the psychosocial recovery of the work community.
During the discussion:
- The course of events and individual experiences are reviewed
- Reactions and feelings are normalized
- Stressors and protective factors are identified
- The community’s coping and functioning are strengthened
Debriefing is suitable for situations that have been particularly stressful, unexpected, or impactful.
Who is the service for?
The guidance supports work communities in situations involving, for example, the threat of violence, sudden crises, accidents, emergencies, or other unusual and stressful events.
Sovulla provides support in a safe manner:
- The guidance is conducted calmly, respectfully, and solution-focused.
- The goal is to restore a safe atmosphere, strengthen the functioning of the community, and support individuals in processing the situation.
